Project Summary:

The City's existing solids dewatering system was in urgent need of a major overhaul. Over the years, several dewatering systems were utilized, but the City had the best results with belt filter press technology. Based on an economical analysis, the City decided to proceed with a new solids dewatering building.

At the heart of the system are two BDP Industries Model 3DP® belt filter presses. The 3DP utilizes three-belt technology. This provides advanced operational flexibility while optimizing process performance as compared to traditional two-belt machines – lower polymer usage, drier cake, clearer filtrate, higher throughput, longer belt life.

Lou Fallova is quite familiar with BDP equipment, as he operated BDP equipment at the City plant through the 1980's. Lou's staff is now responsible for operating and maintaining the sludge dewatering equipment.

Our special thanks to Lou Fallova and Mike Madigan. Their support during this sensitive project should be recognized. Both Lou and Mike leaped many personal and professional hurdles in order to make this project a success for the City.
